Yii Ying Tan (Piano)

Born in Malaysia, Yii Ying began her musical studies when she was six. Since then, she has won numerous international and local competitions, and given performances in Malaysia, China, USA, Italy and Australia. Recent achievements include her concerto debut as a soloist for the Etruscan Concerto by Peggy Glanville-Hicks with conductor Tianyi Lu, a sold-out solo recital in collaboration with Casa Capriccio Musica in Kuching, Malaysia, a performance at the Lincoln Center, New York City, as well as gaining Silver and Bronze Prizes in both the Young Artist and Open Category at the Kingsburg International Piano Competition in China. Her musical pursuit was supported by the Monash University Elite Student Performer Scheme and Yayasan Sarawak. Weihang Li is an active conductor, a music director and a music tutor in Australia who graduated from Sydney Conservatorium with the Master of Conducting. ADAM PRZEWLOCKI F.T.C.L. L.R.S.M. DipRAM BMus One of Australia’s leading show choir directors, Adam founded the first of his choirs, the Divine Divas of Sunbury in 2007. He has enjoyed an illustrious career as concert pianist, chamber musician and accompanist. He has performed as recitalist throughout Australia, USA, Europe, Taiwan, Korea, China, Japan and New Zealand. Adam was Musical Director, pianist and vocalist with renowned cabaret group ‘Pot-Pourri’ for10 years, undertaking more than 15 overseas concert tours with the 5-piece group. Adam’s dedication and service to the Hume community has been acknowledged through being named ‘Hume Citizen of the Year’ in 2009, as well as being a National Finalist in the2009 Herald Sun ‘Pride of Australia’ medal for services to the community. During Adam’s competitive career, he amassed over 200 prizes in Eisteddfods throughout Australia, including the City of Sydney Eisteddfod Piano Scholarship. He was also a finalist in the Stravinsky International Piano Competition for Young Artists in Illinois, USA in 1990 and 4th prizewinner in the Ettlingen International Competition for Young Pianists in Germany, 1991. Adam is also a recipient of the Queen Elizabeth Study Grant and is a Churchill Fellow. He also studied on full scholarship at London’s Royal Academy of Music from 1992-1996. He has performed in master classes conducted by Andras Schiff, John Lill, Peter Donahue, Alfred Brendel, Pascal Roge and Imogen Cooper. In 2019 Adam became Co Artistic Director of the award winning Choir of Hard KNocks.

Winnie Kuo (Piano)

“Ms. Kuo’s recital demonstrated strong technical and musical competency. She is a very gifted young pianist.” A pianist recognised for her affection for classical music, Winnie Chih-Wei Kuo has currently finished her Master's degree at the Melbourne Conservatorium under Associate Professor Jerry Wong. Alexandra Thomson (Clarinet, Saxophone)

Alexandra Thomson is an Australian clarinettist and has recently returned home after studying a Masters of Arts at The Royal Academy of Music in London. Whilst at RAM, Alex worked alongside conductors such as Semyon Bychkov, John Wilson, Simon Young and Timothy Weiss. In London, Alex studied with Mark van de Weil, Timothy Lines, Laurent Ben Slimane and Dr Chi-Yu Mo. She also appeared in regular masterclass series with Patrick Messina and Andrew Marriner. Amogh Ananth (Violin)

Amogh is a passionate and nurturing violinist and teacher and started playing the violin at the age of seven-and-a-half. During the lockdown period, Amogh has had the chance to perform in a range of virtual performances, ranging from solo and chamber works to orchestral repertoire. In March, Amogh participated in the Festival Napa Valley online performance of Verdi’s ‘Va Pensiero,’ which was featured on the Violin Channel’s website. In terms of his solo and chamber music playing, Amogh had the opportunity to perform a virtual concert for St Paul’s Cathedral, in August. Given his broad experience in instrumental teaching and community music teaching initiatives, such as the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra’s Pizzicato Effect, Amogh strongly believes in universal access to musical education. Ferdianto Poniman is an experienced drummer and drum teacher. He has an experience of playing drums since he was nine years old and started performing when he was fifteen. Prior to his study from JMC Academy, Ferdi has been teaching in his home country of Indonesia since 2014 and went to study a year later. During his study at JMC Academy, Ferdi has been played for various different genres of his university band in certain different venues such as the Gasometer Hotel, Bendigo Hotel as well as the Memo Music Hall St. Kilda when he delivered his final recital with JMC Academy. Moreover, Ferdi now has his Bachelor Degree in Contemporary Music Performance which he earned in 2018 and currently he works for Metro Music School where he teaches students from children to adult with the levels from beginner to intermediate. As a teacher, Ferdi has a passionate, kind and humble personality and has a keen interest when he is working with most of his students. His focuses are developing his students’ technical abilities as well as how to developed their musical expression in drums. Hamish Gould (Voice)

Hamish Gould completed his Master of Arts in Music Performance at Monash University in 2019, specialising in Classical Voice. He has experience as a freelance vocal soloist, primarily undertaking oratorio and concert work, as well as in private vocal teaching with students of a variety of ages. While the majority of his performances have focussed on classical repertoire, ranging from Medieval to 20th Century, his background is in Music Theatre, and before entering his degree at Monash, he undertook a Foundation Course in Music Theatre at the VCA. Harrisson has carved his unique path through the Australian music industry and is well respected and regarded as one of Australia's best young commercial trumpet players. Harrisson has performed with high end artists such as Vanessa Price, Jeff Clayton, James Morrison, Mat Jordell, David Jones, Carl Mackey, Wycliff Gordan, Emma Pask, Jerry Nowak, Jeff Clayton, Marianne Pracheski, Phil Stack, Dave & Paul Panichi, Latin American Grammy award winning artist Yan Collazo and more. Hina Sasuga (Violin)

Hina has been playing the violin and performing since she was five. Through her years of schooling, she not only was part of many of the ensembles, but also was given opportunities to perform as a soloist with the school orchestra. In addition, she has taken part in the State Music Camp and the Melbourne Youth Orchestra, where she was able to develop her ensemble skills. She also has gotten a glimpse of the professional industry through performances with the rock band Foreigner for their concerts in Melbourne, performing in the orchestra at Vision Australia's Carols by Candlelight and playing alongside the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra. Soyeon An, is a student currently studying a double degree of Music and Science at Monash university specialising in performance in playing the viola in her third year. She started playing her instrument around year 3, at the age of 10 for compulsory music classes, and kept onto it with passion. Also joining ensembles right at the beginning of her music journey, she has never taken a break from orchestral works, attending weekly rehearsals in school and to the present day doing orchestras including the MAO, Monash Academic orchestra, string ensembles and chamber music along with her solo repertoire study, which she considers a very important component of music. Wilson Tang is a professional piano teacher with over 10 years of teaching experience. Born in Sydney, he started learning the piano at the age of 5. Other accomplishments include the 1st prize at the 23rd Estoril Interpretation Competition (Portugal), 2nd prize at Clara Wieck Schumann Competition 2022 (Italy), 4th prize at 2022 Tampere Flute Fest - Young Artists Competition (Finland) and the 3rd prize at the Dutch International Flute Competition 2021. David completed his studies at Haute École de Musique de Genève (Switzerland) and at the Royal Conservatory of Brussels (Belgium) with the support of the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation.

Jackie is a classically trained pianist who is studying Master of Music at the University of Melbourne. She started her music journey at the age of four in Hong Kong and has been learning piano since then. Growing up as a pianist, she took part in various contests in Hong Kong. She has won numerous awards internationally and continued her studies in Melbourne, taking Bachelor of Music under the tutelage of Dr. Tamara Smolyar. Having started teaching in 2019, she is dedicated to unearth the potentials of young musicians. She is now learning piano with Elizabeth Mitchell while she teaches piano at the same time. She has experience helping her students with different examinations like AMEB and ABRSM.
