Lizzy Scarlett
Lizzy has been trained in classical violin from the age of 5 and has completed multiple AMEB exams, her AmusA, Licentiate, and first 3 years of her music degree under the tutelage of Julian Quirit. In 2019, she completed her final honours year at the University of Melbourne under the tutelage of Markiyan Melnychenko.
Lizzy has performed in soloist, chamber and orchestral capacities at venues including Hamer Hall, Melbourne Recital Centre and Elder Hall (Adelaide Conservatorium). She currently enjoys performing in various ensembles including both Melbourne University’s Symphony Orchestra and Melbourne University’s Philharmonic Orchestra, the latter in the position of concertmaster. Her performance credits outside of the University includes work with ANAM Orchestra, Melbourne Youth Orchestra (MYO), Australian Youth Orchestra National Music Camp, and the Australian Conservatoire of Ballet’s performances of Swan Lake (2017) and the Nutcracker (2016). In 2019, Lizzy and 3 others students formed a piano quartet under the guidance of Kristian Chong and have performed on the radio, entering the finals of The Talent.
Lizzy’s teaching style is centred around the students, and she is committed to creating a fun environment to help develop technical capabilities and high-levelled musicality.
