Nanda Hong

Nanda began her music studies at the age of 7 and is currently completing her Bachelor of Music degree at The University of Melbourne (Specialising in Violin Performance). She has received tutelage from past and present violinists of the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra including Cong Gu, Wilma Smith and Mark Mogilevski, as well as pianist Darryl Coote.

In 2018, Nanda was concertmaster of the Methodist Ladies’ College Strings Ensemble and Concert Orchestra and enjoyed actively performing with her Year 12 String Quartet. Her musical involvement includes playing in first violin positions of the Melbourne Youth Orchestra (2015), Australian New Goldberg Orchestra (2014-2017) and Vision Australia’s ‘Carols by Candlelight’ Orchestra (2015).

Nanda has completed AMEB Associate (A.Mus.A) and Licentiate (L.Mus.A) Diplomas in Violin, as well as an Associate Diploma (A.Mus.A) in Piano. She was awarded with Honours for her completion of Music Theory. She is also a recipient of multiple Corinna D’Hage Mayer String Scholarships and enjoys performing regularly in the Melbourne University Symphony Orchestra as well as other chamber ensembles.

Nanda is committed to teaching in an encouraging and positive environment, while tailoring lessons to individuals. She wishes to guide students of all levels with methods of achieving effective technique, expressive musicality and creative interpretation.
