
Novelyne Faustine
Novelyne is currently a graduate student, studying at the University of Melbourne, Master of Music Therapy. Before moving to Melbourne, Novelyne is an established classical piano teacher in Indonesia, with a Bachelor of Arts degree from the locally renowned Universitas Pelita Harapan Conservatory of Music.
During her undergraduate studies, she studied under the tutelage of Mr. Firdy Salim. She conducted her debut recital at the Universitas Pelita Harapan Recital Hall, Indonesia. She have since continued to deliver performances for local music organizations that she works with. She was an active participant in the annual Yamaha Piano Competition in 2012-2016, receiving awards to compete as the representative for Jakarta region.
Novelyne has been teaching since 2016. She has taught students from as young as 4 years old to adults. She takes an individualised approach, supporting each student to reach their goals in various methods. Through incorporating creative teaching aids, she makes music learning an enjoyable process. Novelyne is familiar with preparing students for exams and her previous students have excelled their exams under her structured guidance. Aside from mastery, she believes that the benefits of music learning is extendable to develop a person’s self-agency. Therefore, she aspires to support students in building lifelong musical appreciation from a young age.
Influenced by her music therapy background, Novelyne has a strong interest in mental health & accessibility in music. She believes that musicking is a powerful medium for expression. She has experience in providing adaptive music lessons for children with special needs.
Novelyne travels to students, with teaching locations in Melbourne CBD and Southbank.
