Leticia Bayliss
Leticia is an encouraging, passionate and dedicated vocal teacher and performer. She has recently completed an Advanced Diploma in Music Industry at Oxygen College, majoring in performance and composition. Here, she had the opportunity to learn under the tutelage of Chris Wheelwright, Phil Kearney and Nina Grant. Leticia is a proficient and experienced performer across a variety of styles, including Pop, Jazz, Soul, Rhythm and Blues, Rock and Musical Theatre.
Leticia first began performing at six years old in local productions and at ten years she began taking vocal lessons. Since, she has completed seven vocal exams through ANZCA, certificate Four in Music Industry and Diploma in Music Industry (both majoring in performance and composition). Leticia has performed in numerous musical productions including Godspell (Lindsay), the Wizard of Oz (Glinda), Little Shop of Horrors (ensemble), Heathers: The Musical (pit singer), If/Then (ensemble) and is currently preparing for the role of Daisy Hilton in Sideshow.
While completing her Advanced Diploma, Leticia wrote and recorded four original songs at Don’t Poke the Bear studio in Geelong. These are set to be released on all major streaming platforms in 2021. She also enjoyed collaborating with other members of the course, assisting in the writing process. Leticia enjoys performing her original music, gigging around local venues, playing both piano and guitar to accompany herself. Her songs are a soulful blend of pop, rhythm and blues, that incorporate jazz chords and harmony. Leticia welcomes students who take interest in composition and recording. Owning an amateur recording set-up and being competent on Pro Tools, Leticia is happy to help students create demos and record covers.
Leticia welcomes students of all ages and experience, tailoring lessons to suit the specific student’s goals, needs and interests. Whether the student is preparing for exams, performances, auditions, recordings or is taking lessons for leisure, Leticia will run professional lessons that are fun and engaging. Leticia focuses on teaching correct vocal technique, beneficial exercises, developing performance skills, incorporating theoretical knowledge and building repertoire while providing a warm, comfortable and supportive environment.
