Annie Shi
Annie began learning piano from the age of eight and completed Grade 8 examination awarded with merit by the Associated Board of Royal Schools of Music (ABRSM) at the age of seventeen.
After several years of focussing on her university studies and career, Annie began teaching piano and music theory as part-time and she soon realised this was her passion. Her schedule was soon filled with students who she built long lasting relationships with and she now has over ten years of experience in teaching piano. She has significant experience with guiding her students through ABRSM exams and achieving outstanding results.
Aside from her classical piano practices, Annie strives to expand her repertoire of musical experience. She led a church music group, consisted of singers accompanied by drums, guitars, strings and keyboard, for seven years where she regularly conducted and sang at weekly masses attended by over 200 people. She had occasionally been invited to perform both classical and contemporary music at weddings. Currently, she plays and sings at her local church every week.
Annie aspires to develop others to become genuine pianists by teaching in a friendly manner and putting her students’ needs and interests first. She teaches as young as 4 years old and prefers travelling to students’ homes as she believes students learn best in a comfortable environment.
