
Jungbeen Lee
Jungbeen is a Korean-Australian pianist currently studying at Monash University. Studying Bachelor of Music and a Bachelor of Secondary Education double degree, she specializes in Classical Piano Performance. Jungbeen is and continues to endeavour to become an approachable and encouraging teacher. Jungbeen has pursued her passion for music since she was five years old, encompassing various genres. She is currently under the tutelage of Darryl Coote at Monash University and played in small and large ensembles such as the Piano Duo and Monash Piano Ensemble which were conducted by Aura Go and Dr Tomoe Kawabata.
During her years in high school, Jungbeen participated in several ensembles, which includes the Stage band, ‘Peter Pan the Musical’ production band, as well as performing as an accompanist for school’s choirs. She has participated in several competitions with these ensembles, receiving Platinum or Gold for Victorian Schools Music Festival at the Australian Institute of Music, Victorian Bands Festival, Royal South Street in Ballarat and Dizzy’s Jazz Club in Richmond. Jungbeen has achieved A+ level grades for her VCE Music Performance, with a study score of 39. She is also keen to push her limits, always trying to broaden her knowledge and techniques. She is currently studying for LMusA in Music Performance, along with her degree.
Outside of school, Jungbeen has played in the Victorian State Schools Spectacular Orchestra in 2018 at the Melbourne Arena, which was broadcasted on Channel 7.
She is also an experienced accompanist, with over 3 years of experience in accompanying various instruments and choirs, of any age or level. Jungbeen is an experienced piano teacher with over three years of experience in teaching, as she started teaching back in high school. With students ranging from age groups four to adult years, she is capable of teaching just about anyone. As she believes understanding the joy that music brings is the very first step in becoming a fine musician, Jungbeen always strives to inspire her students and encourage them to develop their style. She is open to students with any skill level and tailors each lesson to lead everyone to their goals.
