Living in Tasmania, Weihang Li is an active conductor, a violinist, a music tutor and an orchestra manager. He has been teaching violin and strings ensemble for 11 years in Australia and China. He also teaches conducting skills, music appreciation and music theory.

Graduated from Sydney Conservatorium of Music, Weihang Li holds the Master Degree of Music Studies (Conducting). He has been the Music director of Southern Tasmanian Community Orchestra, the guest conductor of Derwent Symphony Orchestra and the President & Music Director of C-Silk International Music Association Inc. During his studies in Sydney, he used to be the assistant conductor of Richard Bonynge rehearsing the choir part of Haydn Opera “Orfeo and Euridice ” and the assistant symphony orchestra conductor of Eduardo Diazmunõz conducting Beethoven Symphony no. 6.

As a music director in Tasmania, he conducted Derwent Symphony Orchestra for its “Young Soloists” concerts performing Beethoven and Mozart’s opera Arias and Harry Potter Symphonic Suite. He also directs and conducts the Southern Tasmanian Community Orchestra for 6 concerts rehearsing strings ensemble music repertoire ranging from Baroque to Modern music. As an orchestra manager, he founded C-Silk International Music Association Inc. in late September in 2018 and it has around 30 permanent members and 10 guest musicians forming a chamber orchestra and a choir. C-Silk has also used its educational function teaching young musicians ensemble skills and strings techniques.

As a violin teacher, Weihang Li has been teaching violin and music theory in China and Australia since 2009. He is good at formulating personalised learning plans and improving students’ comprehensive music skills through his creative thinking. He also teaches AMEB to young students . He also trains students’ ears in his violin class and thus students would start the ensemble experience as early as possible. He also forms students ensemble and provide stages for them to show their study outcomes.
