Rodrigo Santiago
Born in Spain, Rodrigo is undoubtedly an up-and-coming guitarist of his generation. He has been surrounded and immersed in musical culture from an early age and took up playing the guitar after listening to some of the luminaries of the guitar world. Following his graduation from high school with a gap year around the world, he went on to complete his Bachelor’s Degree in Jazz Performance from the Jazz Music Institute in Brisbane, Australia in 2016.
Over the past ten years, Rodrigo has been an active member of the local Brisbane music scene, regularly performing live in various settings and venues including residencies, festivals, private functions and government and community events. Aside from this, Rodrigo has self-produced four albums and has taken part in collaborative studio work with Jazz Music Institute, JMC Academy, Queensland Conservatorium and Sound Audio Engineering.
As an ardent traveller, Rodrigo is frequently on the move discovering new places and gaining new experiences, inspiration and knowledge along the way. Music has taken Rodrigo around the world numerous times with performances in Australia, Japan, India, Spain and Colombia. He has a strong passion for the fusion of cultural music and working with people from culturally diverse backgrounds.
