Amy is a passionate musician and warm hearted teacher who began studying the violin at the age of 5. Her love for music has grown over the years, guiding her to the present day where she is currently completing a Bachelor of Music (Honours) specialising in performance at The University of Melbourne, since returning from studies in Vienna, Austria.

As a devoted orchestral musician, Amy was a member of the Geelong Symphony Orchestra and recently attended the 2018 and 2019 Australian Youth National Music Camp. Amy has been a part of the University of Melbourne Symphony Orchestra since 2017 and has held the positions of Concertmaster, Associate Concertmaster and Principal Second Violin during her studies at the university. They often perform in concert venues such as the Melbourne Recital Centre and Hamer Hall as well as doing international tours to countries including Singapore and Shanghai. Amy has also held the position of concertmaster of the University of Melbourne Philharmonic Orchestra.

Amy immensely enjoy chamber playing with her internationally travelled string quartet, Kalon Quartet, which has taken her all over the world to places including South Korea, America and Asia. They were also invited to perform at the Parliament House in Canberra for important government officials.

Amy has been successful in a number of eisteddfods in the Geelong and Melbourne region, and in 2016, Amy was the first-place winner of the regional section of the Australian Youth Classical Music Competition. She was a soloist for The Piano Guys in their Melbourne show on their 2018 Australian tour, and for the Geelong Symphony Orchestra in 2019. She has also performed on the TV channel ABC, and the radio station 3MBS. Notable collaborations include, Yo-Yo Ma, Takacs Quartet, and Kronos Quartet.

Amy is a motivated and dedicated music teacher with 4 years of professional experience, whose primary goal is to unlock her students’ musical potential and spark a love for the violin. Through her experiences in ensemble and solo playing, private teaching, group teaching and music leadership, a love, appreciation and passion for music has been cultivated. This passion flows into her teaching lessons by using a blend of technical, musical and scholarly tuition. She is also trained in classical piano, classical and contemporary voice, contemporary guitar and has an extensive knowledge of music theory and history. Amy aims to create a warm encouraging and enjoyable lesson environment for her students, to ensure the growth of not only their skill, but also their love for music.
