Are there any requirements in joining MusoHunt as a teacher?
MusoHunt aims to provide the best music education in Australia, hence all MusoHunt teachers are required to be enrolled or have qualified for at least a university music degree or a recognised diploma equivalent (eg: AMusA/LMusA, ATCL/LTCL/FTCL).
Do I need an account to join MusoHunt?
To apply to become a teacher for MusoHunt, you do not need an account, you just need to apply through here. We will be in contact with you within two business day to arrange for an interview, and if your application is successful, you will be required to send us your biographies.
Once you get your first student, you will then be given access to our online portal to log lessons where you can see your students' contact info.
Our online portal makes administrative easy, whether it is for you, for your clients or for us!
How much do I get paid?
How much you will be getting paid depends on how much you choose to charge per hour! Our tutors have complete freedom in setting their price, and your rates will be displayed on your profile online. We are aware that you are the one doing most of the hard work, hence unlike normal music schools, we will only be taking a small percentage of admin fees from you - 18% after GST is calculated, which will contribute to website maintenance, advertising cost, events hosting, payment gateway systems as well as others. Aaaaaand you get to keep the rest to yourself!
How and when do I get paid?
MusoHunt pays the tutors every week via bank transfer on Tuesday mornings, for lessons marked attended from previous week up to 11:59pm of that Sunday night.
Can I accept cash payment from the parent/student?
No cash payments will be allowed due to administrative issues. If your client happens to ask to pay in cash, please reject politely and tell them they will receive an invoice after the lesson has occurred and they can pay online.
How do I record my lessons on MusoHunt with my students?
MusoHunt requires all our tutors to log and record their lessons online.
You can login here and click on ‘Calendar” and mark their attendance. You can also fill in relevant details such as student’s repertoire or notes that you have went through in the lesson if you like, and email it to the student and yourself.
After you have submitted your lesson, an invoice will be sent to the parent, who will then pay the invoice. You will then be paid on the following Tuesday, for all lessons marked attended from previous week up to 11:59pm of that Sunday morning.
I have troubles with my student, what do I do?
We understand that teaching can be tough. You are also always welcome to email us for any issues/questions you faced, and we will try out best to help you.
