Talented young star taking the stage

A very big congratulations to our talented young star, Tracy Zhao from Melbourne is a 10 years old violinist, who has recently gotten into the quarterfinal round of the Sydney Eisteddfod Crowd Favourites Performances!

Tracy was meant to be performing in the Carnegie Hall in New York City, USA in June this year as she won both first place and the Judges Distinction Award in the American International Protégés Piano and String Competition. However, due to the global pandemic, the performance was postponed to June 2021 instead.

Tracy’s parents first found out her extraordinary talent when Tracy was one and a half years old. She could easily remember and copy the church hymns and songs sung by her dad. At her gymnastics classes, she could match the gymnastics moves to the music perfectly. 

Hence her parents decide to start young Tracy on the violin at the age of five. Since then, she has been diligently practising between one to three hours a day during school days, and five to seven hours during weekends and holidays. All her hard work definitely has been paying off as shown by her rather long and impressive list of achievements, winning both local and international competitions.
